Pros
- Comfast CF-WR370AC repeater amplifier is capable on WiFi bands 802.11b/g/n/ and ac (i.e 2.4Ghz and 5G WiFi capable)
- Small side switch to easily select 2.4Ghz or 5.8Ghz WiFi
- Very easy setup. Uses your phone's browser to configure connection to the drone.
- Intended to increase range of your home WiFi system by receiving amplifying and transmitting its signal. Should also be capable of doing the same with your drone.

Since this is a repeater and not an amplifier you need to take the repeater out 200 M away from where you're standing and then you'll get an extra 200m distance. Having the repeater right next to you is the same thing as having your phone just standing there. I'm a licensed ham operator.

Hi I would be curious to see what appends if you set your repeater close to the limit of both your drone and your phone and then fly towards the repeater and beyond. I'm not a communication expert but a repeater is not a booster therefor it's function should be to relay the signal.

hi there, just fyi, the first warning beeps you get for low voltage on the bugs 2w gives you another 5 mins approx flying time before you hear a long single beep with is critical low and time to bring it in :-)

B2W WiFi can operate on two frequencies which you can change with the controller. Which frequency were you on? I've had better luck with the upper frequency, channel 149, 5745Mhz. You can easily check the frequency with a WiFi scanner app (I use the android version of "Wifi Analyser" and it easily detects the Bugs 2 WiFi signal.

The lower channel frequency which is B2W factory default, Channel 36 5180Mhz, is an "indoor frequency" probably lower power transmission.

Channel 149 allows for up to 4W signals. That said, I have no way to measure the B2W transmit power to see if it changes depending which channel you choose.

You change channels by long pressing the photo button on the controller for 8 seconds and it will beep.

It may help with some phones that do not reacquire the WiFi once its lost. As it would be the repeater losing connection and it will just pick it up again automatically.

IDK about RC TX/RX hardware, but when it comes to home networking, you would want to place the repeater somewhere before signal degradation. In general repeaters rebuild the signal and rebroadcasts it. I believe you are aware of this however...

As as you and another comment suggested, I suspect that this is purely a repeater with no amplification/boosting of signal.
It may, as has been suggested, work better if placed say at 120/130m from the phone which seems to be the maximum range available.
Theoretically the repeater would then extend the range on the far side?
Nice bit of kit though

I explained this to you before and you at first laughed at me or took this the wrong way. First of all I will state that I am a subscriber and really enjoy your videos. Now for an explanation. I worked for the Navy and know a bit about communication. A repeater is just that it repeats the signal between 2 objects. The repeater should be set to a distance away from the phone as far as the repeater will connect with the phone. Then you must point the phone at the repeater not the drone. You said so correctly yourself at the beginning of your speech but you did not do this you kept pointing the transmitter at the drone. Now as someone just said before me the repeater may not be an amplifier and also 5.8 g wifi does not work as well as the no lag 5.8 frequencies used for fpv racing. Please don't take this as critism but you have set it up right but using it wrong. Still think you're great though!

I'm very disappointed about the amplifier portion. It's still nice to have a repeater that supports both bands. Thanks for the review.

Hello .I get a big kick out of your reviews. Per your recommendation I have purchased the Hubsan 501, 502, bugs2, Visio 809. All are great.. QUESTION How do they do wifi and a controller on 2.4? Are they shared? Also, , tell us fans about yourself..For example, are you retired and what do you do or did for a living? It will e interesting to see.more of your wife and dog!

Thanks for trying... I was really hoping this would be a win... so the device does not amplify like the 2.4 one you had... what if you expose the antenna on the bugs?

Hi, thank you for posting this video. I’ve been searching forever to find a 5g repeater for my Bugs thing I have noticed with other similar videos in which people are using their 2g repeaters, is that they always have their repeaters directly next to their phone. If you notice during your video, you actually regain your signal (after your initial loss at 350 meters) when you walk back up to your repeater and have it next to it when you go to adjust it’s angle. I’m interested to see what would have happened if you were to test the range while having the repeater directly next to your phone throughout the duration of your flight.

Hello Friend, how are you? I have a bugs 2 and his fpv is only going up to 200 mts, and he wanted to know if there is a 5.8 ghz transmitter to connect to the camera and view it on my cell phone, so increase the distance. Thank you

You said that you can connect this using a browser, do you think will work with a Mac using a browser as well?

Dear quadcopter101, I'm thinking of buying a (3rd) drone and am not sure as to whether I should go for the MJX bugs 2 or bugs 3. I have seen all 4 videos you made about the MJX bugs versions but I still can't choose which is best for they both have their flaws. Could you maybe help?
Thank you in advance

I have the exact same combination of Bugs 2W and Comfast 5GHz repeater. But while I can connect to the B2W directly with my Samsung Galaxy S5 I cannot see the Comfast's network. :-(
I do see it in 2.4GHz mode but then the repeater does not see the drone's network.
