The cheapest proof buffalo I’ve seen was $1830 with COA box. I missed out by few minutes. Spot was $1700 too. 😢

I picked one up at my local coin shop for about $60 more than for a regular one. Was during the down market still not sure if it was a bad choice. Then again is the only proof coin I own, so I guess it is just a novelty thing where I can say I have one lol!

I got my proof coin for far less than you mentioned. It was to celebrate the birth of my child so totally worth the extra premium! It stands out in my stack as being the special one.

I can definitely tell you I don't love the Fiat because it will eventually fail

The display box is ok but it takes up storage space in a stack and in my collection it isn’t impressive enough to be displayed. I prefer gold proof Buffaloes graded at 70 for easy stacking and handling while retaining the option to display on an easel if the mood hits. 😊

One of my local shop sells proof coins for $20 over a standard coin of the same design. Another sells them for $50 over (these are Canadian dollars mind you). That's a hell of a lot less than 50%

I have been buying the BU for a few years, beautiful coin I think. I turn 50 this year and I thought as a treat I would get the 2024 Proof. I note on the US Mint site the 2023 Proof is selling for 78.25% over spot, The 2024 BU is selling from a UK dealer that I buy from 8.25% over spot - Bit of a difference eh. What to do. I would like to get something different/unique this year to mark my half century.
