Показать описание
We`ve all seen in movies and books and all that, where the bad guys, good guys: "we're playing a game of chess in real life, it’s checkmate sir, your move!"
➡️ But is chess really a great metaphor for life, for professional or personal?
➡️ Let`s look at this game.
➡️ Great game though it is, but when you`re dealing with a situation against an opponent, you both start out with exactly the same pieces, exactly the same resources?
➡️ Do each of you have exactly the same moves?
➡️ And can you see exactly what they do every single time?
➡️ And is there always only one on one?
➡️ The fact is, chess stinks as a metaphor for planning and creating strategies as soon as reality gets into them.
➡️ What`s a better choice?
➡️ We'll talk about that in a later video, but here's a hint:
➡️ This is a great book, "Thinking in Bets," by Annie Duke.
➡️ So - how do you throw your chessboard off to the side?
➡️ Do you always find all the pieces on the floor later?
