How to transform a 12 Million Pixel Raw File into 50 MILLION!

In this video I will show you how you can transform any raw file into a better quality. In this example we will take a 12 million pixel raw file and transform it into a 50 million raw file which is really crazy! This is really great for printing or having the freedom to have a very high quality file!

nice tuto. I have most of your presets and courses but didn't know you released your presets for latest version of lightroom. It is not clear on your site and accounts for which version of LRC the course/presets were done. same remark/question for black and white. Where can we find your new presets and replace old ones, transferred by default to LRC ?

I tried it on some film scans. It does work but the problem with 'enhance' is that you can not fine tune it, so some images look oversharpened and have noticeable color noise and artifacting. If you could adjust sensitivity it would be much more useful.

Very interesting!
But it would be actually more useful in order to see the difference to equally zoom-in in both photo versions to see if there is a noticeable difference in image quality.
Of course one can check it out by himself...

I think you confuse the original resolution with what AI can do so simulate a higher original resolution.

I upscale all the time using Topaz gigapixel ai or On1 Resize ai 2022. On1 provided me a license for testing. Resize ai works better on most photos. Adds more detail and i notice less artifacts.

Considering 99% of all ' photography ' of today ( including my own) is useless trash, therefore IMHO, more mega pixel = more rubbish. Digital photography relies to a great degree, on ' detail reconstruction ' by the onboard processors of the camera and to a lesser degree on post process. You can not create detail from nothing. As far as I understand, all these so called AI enabled software, rely on highly comlex algorithms to try and create ' virtual detail ' from whatever data the raw file has provided to the software. They have some use in sharpening raw data that is perceived to be soft, but they can not create real detail. They work by trying to reconstruct the scene using the available data, and that is why they are so processor and GPU intensive. I think there will come a point, where camera manufacturers will engineer the decoding software so that only proprietry software would be able to decode the digital data, and hence protect their market of ' new ' cameras until such time that computational photography takes over camera photography. At that point no photographer would be required, but a button pusher.
