WAIT... Remember Skyland?

Nickelodeon is always up to something interesting... and by that I mean having their other channel Nicktoon Network get a bunch of different syndicated programs from all around the world and often times from places like canada. Today for the show Skyland, we have another case of that as this French and Canadian show was brought to the united states for the Nicktoon Network and Skyland turned out to be a really ambitious show that was made in a unique way, but whould that be enough for Skyland to stick out? Let's take a look!

Holy crap, I've been trying to remember this show for YEARS, they only aired like the first two eps where I'm from

Even as a kid the janky motion capture animation and facial expressions were always off putting however the background scenery created for this show is absolutely beautiful and some of the best in any animated show I’ve seen.

For this show, you really just had to be there. What a time.

The fact that I’ve never met a single other human being in my nearly 20 years on the Internet who has seen this show drives me insane. This is literally one of the most influential things I watched as a kid. I had my own fantasy world I had created and the lore was SO heavily lifted from this shit. I can’t tell you how relieving it is that a YouTuber I watch regularly made a video about this show. I know it existed. I know I could Google screenshots of it. But the fact that I could never find another human being talking about it was starting to make me feel CRAZY.

Definitely had no idea this existed. This looks incredible honestly. I mean the character animations haven't aged well clearly. But it's so rare to see something this ambitious in children's tv.

This show honestly captured my imagination when I was a kid. The concept of a broken word was just so cool to me.

This is one of those shows you barely remember, but reference randomly.

This did get us over the tech hump to make Iron Man: armored adventures happen though. So thanks!

Oh my gosh Jordan! For the longest time I’ve had the most faint memories about this series over the years that it’s sometimes felt I like I was the only one who knew about it or like a fever dream that I had and because I never remembered what it was called I didn’t talk about it much, but man am I glad I’m not crazy lol I remember watching this and throughly enjoying it! The story and style was very cool, I always wondered what happened and remembered thinking it could have been as big as Avatar: The Last Airbender! This made my day, I’m glad I’m not the only one who remembered Skyland and of course always enjoy watching your videos!

I always wanted to see some one make a video about this forgotten show. I remember watching this when I was a kid and I believe that the series is on Youtube, last time I've seen it. I even remember that comment of Emmanuel that was left on one of the episodes, which indeed has been removed from Youtube. While I personally think that the janky motion capture didn't aged too well, nothing can be said for the Background and even the soundtrack. So thank you so much for making this video and give this obscure show some recognition.

I loved this show growing up, I only watched the first season, still need to find the second one.
It stayed vividly in my brain cause the visuals and music was like nothing else on TV.
I am glad there is more light shown on this series :D

Re-watching the first season as an adult I loved (i think the episode was "king for a day") and they had a dance party to some delightfully mid2000s rock tune.
This show will always give me feelings of adventure and nostalgia

Honestly I remember how i Felt watching this show moreso than most of the characters or plot points. It always had such a somber and serious tone to it, that I remember feeling very mature when i watched it. Ironically it always felt very Grounded, and the stakes always felt dire, so I remember loving the drama too. This, and Avatar were my first big inklings of animation not just being funny and over the top for kids like me, and that these wide sweeping grand stories could be told in a way that transcends age.

Also I wanted Mahad and Sokka to bond over their boomerangs together 😭

YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW HARD I'VE BEEN TRYING TO REMEMBER THE NAME OF THIS SHOW FROM THIS ONE SPECIFIC SCENE AT 4:23

So thank you!

I've been fascinated with this kind of future post-apocalyptical Steampunk universe. There's something so deeply cool about a world of fragmented floating islands and the steam or dieselpunk style of airships to traverse it.

Its fantastic to see others here talking about this show with such interest. I loved this show when it first came out, after a while i managed to torrent both season and for the past 10 or so years been watching it on and off. It has such an incredible world and lore like Jordan said that it draws me in ever single time! I would love for this show to come back maybe with just better writing but thats it. I love the outro as well, 45 seconds of pure delight.
