I have been playing Magic The Gathering for 12 years now. I have been hesitant for a long time to try Pokemon, but a friend of mine got me into it recently. We have been doing this exact format ever since. We buy products of things we want at similar rate and use the card pools to build our decks. We stay casual and so far I'm having so much fun. It so much cheaper, the product opening experience is way better. it 100x cheaper to build deck it's crazy and it's fun to not be meta and be forced to think about our decks and adapt with what we have. We have our own meta.

Funny story, during Obsidian Flame I managed to somehow open 3 tera Charizard Ex (one was the special illustration rare) AND 2 Pidgeot. I obviously built a Charizard deck and I destroyed my friend for a long time until we built multiple decks.

Chips deck worked really well in the first match. Loving this series as I'm learning to build decks and have been trying to use tcgl to learn, but this helps so much and gives me more faith in building a deck(s) with the cards I have. I just can't imagine using super expensive cards to play, although it looks so cool to see a fully arted out deck
