Rothco jungle boots. Overview and observations

An unbiased uncompensated review of Rothco’s cold war era jungle boots.

Snagged a set of these worn once for fifteen first thing i did was drop some inserts in i have a deep appreciation for classic military boots ive worn Nam era endicotts my favortie that I'll always keep a set of is the ANSI jump boot had a set of those last a decade of hard use before they became unfit. If you are after a set of awesome laces that fit the aesthetic and will hold up mad dog laces has an ebay shop, they'll make them to spec in various colors.

They are decent for the price as long as you don't try to wear them like work boots everyday. Total lack of insole cushion though so, I use Timberland pro foot beds in mine which also help snug them up a little bit since they do run a little on the large side. The lug soles sure are grippy in mud, sand, wet grass etc. Good for use as a warm weather hunting boot and as long as you keep them clean and and take care of the leather, they should give you a couple of years of use easy. Don't buy them looking for original surplus quality though because they aren't up to that task.

I had a par of these, honestly I'd skip these and pay the extra for the bellevilles if you want them to last

I've got a pair Fox brand jungle boots; have heard bad stuff about them, but haven't encountered any problems.

hey there friend. since these are rothco’s version, once the paint on the vents wear off you’ll need to apply a small amount of oil on them to prevent rusting since they aren’t made of brass like the originals.

also, the tread on the model of jungle boot you’ve got is designed to release mud easily so if you don’t live in a muddy environment you may have issues.

Been wondering about the sizing. How is the sizing compared to heritage work boots like Red Wing and Wolverine? Can I choose the sama size?
