Chelsea are unbeaten under Graham Potter and look like a rejuvenated side following back to back wins against AC Milan in the Champions League.

Joining from Brighton in September, Potter has already started to introduce his footballing philosophy to Stamford Bridge - firing the London club back into to the Top 4 in the Premier League.

Jon Mackenzie discusses exactly what the new head coach has done right since joining, and what particular areas he has improved on from Thomas Tuchel's tenure.

Considering that Potter beat Arsenal with Ostersunds (who he got promoted from 3rd division in Sweden), and the job he did at Swansea and Brighton, with sufficient backing from the board i am 100% sure that he will succeed at Chelsea. He is a great tactician and utilises the squad he has fully. I am so glad he finally got his big break because he has the strangest career path i've ever seen, it just shows that if you work hard the sky is the limit

Never forget this is how we started under Tuchel.
As a Chelsea fan, it's clear that the long term mentality of some of our 'leader' players is non existent.
Boehly's less trigger-happy policy will hopefully shut down this 18-month manager merry-go-round that we've been cursed with for years.

Positive bounce - good results - same problem players dropped - downturn of results - dressing room lost - rinse & repeat

Hope Potter is given time as I believe he has the potential to be a special manager

The fan base has a short memory, please kindly remember that Chelsea was on the decline from Christmas 2021 onwards. Tuchel somehow lost it, for the 1st sign was the defeat to Arsenal during pre-season, not necessarily the performance of the team, but how he responded to the loss after that. From then on, his body language and especially criticism of his players became worrisome. The biggest difference I think is Potters' man management, the guy is brilliant.

Just a technical note - the "picture in picture" so we could see the board while the camera was focused on Jon during certain explainations was excellent. More of this please!

For people who don't understand what is special about Mason Mount, is that he is essential to the Chelsea team over the last 2 seasons especially. He won't statpad, but any manager will select him for his tactical awareness and linking the attack with the midfield.

Potter doesn't get enough credit. Since he joined, Chelsea beat Milan home and away, and put down some numbers in the EPL. Yet the English press doesn't even acknowledge his brilliance. It's all been about the emergence of Arsenal and the sensation of Haaland (but I'm Norwegian, so 💪). On the one hand I wish Potter gets credited a lot, while on the other hand I was so hyped when Tuchel started that thing with Conte like, oh a new manager rivalry is about to go down for at least the next two seasons. But sadly, Tuchel got replaced with a less temperamental coach. I wish Diego Someone would come to the EPL. 😅

When are people going to rate mount, picked by Lampard and then tuchel and then southgate and now potter, there is a reason he always gets picked

Over the past 3 or so seasons, every time Mount has played well, Chelsea have played well. He has been integral and in those 7 matches under Tuchel this season he was honestly kinda poor. But these tactics under Potter suit him, he is playing well again and that changes everything. Glad Potter has been able to get Mount back on form.

You need to describe the "ponderous passing" around the perimeter with the Tifo approved "donut of sadness". It's from one of JJ's inspired moments in this sort of exercise.

Potter hasn't just been playing a 3 4 3 though; He's played 4 3 3 for the most part, Sterling was wrongly labelled as a wing back in Potter's 1st game where he was actually the left winger in front of Cucurella. Chelsea played the same shape against Palace & Wolves. Its only Milan I'd say they played 3atb.

I was watching the other day Tottenham vs Brighton the way they move the ball and how quick they are it was amazing to watch . Once Potter gets these Chelsea players to play like that we will unstoppable. We are still in progress.

I feel like Mount is filling in a big gap that Kante left in the creative sense. They both control the field well and are selfless players. Im really impressed with what Mount has achieved

He's just having his honeymoon period, as Tuchel had last season. Players usually try to impress their new boss by working harder. Once the honeymoon is over next season, he'd likely have to replace some players with his own choices. But I bet Boehly will stick with Potter for a while, to take credit of Chelsea's future success, as Kroenke did with Arteta

Honestly, I don't think it's fair to say Potter has been better than Tuchel. Instead he's benefiting from a settled team and having the new manager bounce (players like Pulisic stop pulling a strop and start trying because he feels he can get in the team again).
I do see us playing slightly more direct football in attack due to the off ball runs, but also feel like this is due to a settled attack now that James and Chilwell is back. I'm reminded of how we played against Juve last year seeing this team play.

I've said it time and time again, mount's role in any team is so important.he doesn't score but he's so essential to how Chelsea nullify enemy's threat

You need to do a video on Club Brugges. It's phenomenal what they're doing in the UCL and I need answers about how they're doing it.

Please make a video about Club Brugge's CL run!

I feel like Lukaku would shine under Potter seeing as this team actually has creativity and quality passing in the final third.

People need to relax and stop over-hyping because we won against a few off-form teams or teams with lots of injuries. Sure we've improved, but not so much that we once again become a dominant force. That will take time, hype them up when that comes.
