My bro, with glasses, enjoys every stroke of the bow... Every stroke.

OMG, that crunch at 4:06 sounds like an organ. So powerful!

My favourite piece of classical music from when I was a young teen. And now, closing in on 50, I still think this is amazing. Thank you for an amazing rendition!

witnessed a high school quartet play this live when i was 15, and even in that setting it brought me to tears. Grieg just does something to me. This piece rips something out of me. The part played by the man in glasses in this rendition, in particular, those harmonies! And of course, the woman in the teal dress is doing an incredible job. My favorite part of this performance is how much fun they’re obviously having, as if they all know each other well enough that even playing something like this piece can be a joyful experience.

Omg this performance of grieg’s quartet is so good. I was floored by just the musicality of the introduction to the first movement alone, not even considering the astounding musically displayed in every nook and cranny within the rest of the piece

This is the first time I've heard this piece. For Grieg, I think Peer Gynt, Holberg, or perhaps the Piano Concerto, but this quartet, as they say, is Something Else!!! Such drama and passion, interspersed with flashes of gentleness and wry humour, so eloquently brought out by these wonderful musicians. No wonder there was such applause and cheers at the end. Bravo, and thanks so much for this excellent video.

Beautiful people performing beautiful music exquisitely. Grieg would love this stunning performance. I know this is now 5 years old, but it is timeless. Thank you all. - I just listened to this again and am stunned at the beauty, the strength and musicality of this performance. I heard the Amadeus Quartet play this in Berlin in the 1970s and I never thought I would hear it played with so much grace, emotion and musical perfection again, but this performance did not disappoint. Thank you again Oh, great camera work as well!😊

Beautiful performance.
This piece of music seems to have a bit of everything. The first movement has some of the mood of Beethoven's string quartet op. 131, especially in a passage like 5:09 which resembles the beginning of the seventh movement of the op. 131. 22:19 onward is light-hearted and sounds like folk music. Everywhere, though, one feels the touch of Grieg's original genius.
Thank you for sharing this.

Bravo!
