Quorum's WaveFX confocal system is a laser based system using an optimized Nipkow Spinning technology capable of acquiring confocal images at video rates. This innovative technology significantly reduces photobleaching and photo-toxicity which makes it ideal for studying live cell activity in an undisturbed environment. The increased performance of the system is a result of the several optical modifications unique to Quorum Technologies.

This video shows the development of a Drosophila (fruit fly) embryo over a 17 hour time frame. The fluorescence signal is due to a Histone tagged GFP (Green Fluorescent Protein) construct.
