As a Mexican when I was little I went to an American school in Tucson and all my friends brought lunchables and that processed sh1t but me I brought caldo de pollo and quesadillas, tamales, tacos de carne asada, and all that stuff and my friends always asked me for a little bit of what I brought it was nice seeing them liking my country’s food 🥘 🌮 :)

I grew up in Vallejo, CA and I had so many friends from different backgrounds it was amazing. Our Mexican neighbors in Cali would give myself and my husband at the time Tamales and Tacos off the grill every time they partied lol They would also give out Corona and Budweiser. My kids also love d the Mexican corn and they always bought food from the Mexican vendor walking his food cart through our apartments.
My best friend in the 6th grade was Mexican as well and she was so nice and always used to try to feed me and bring me to her house to chill with family 😂😂 I miss those days❤ God bless all that read this in Jesus name❤❤

I remember when my family used to pack me cultural food (I’m Korean) and I used to be embarrassed because I was different and begged my parents to pack me lunchables or something “normal”. Now I look back and see that they packed it because they loved me and wanted me to have healthy foods to eat.

As a Mexican in middle school I felt this. My elementary didn’t have a microwave so I barely took lunch but my school has a microwave in the cafeteria so I got a huge upgrade and I started bringing food from home and everyone would be like “come on mannnn, sharing is caring.” I would be bringing stuff like taquitos, chicken fajita with bell peppers, frijoles charros, chicken or pork mole, tamales, etc.
