Let’s check the two contenders for the best password manager position. NordPass vs 1Password, one against another: which fares better?

-----------------------------------------------

🔎 Security

The key thing when it comes to password managers is security. So, are NordPass and 1Password secure? Well, both of them are, but let’s examine the differences.

Both providers offer top-of-the-market encryption. But NordPass password manager is using XChaCha20 instead of the industry standard AES-256. It’s a more modern type of encryption that deals with each bit of data individually rather than by block.

Overall, while both providers are secure, NordPass has a slight advantage here due to their more advanced encryption and more options for multifactor authentication.

-----------------------------------------------

⭐ Generating passwords

Both managers have password generators, which is a great way to create strong passwords in a matter of seconds with customizable length, uppercase, and lowercase letters. NordPass also allows you to generate a pass-phrase of up to 10 words. This is great if you need to remember it. However, 1Password has a similar pass-phrase system and also a pin number.

-----------------------------------------------

⭐ Sharing passwords

Now, sharing my passwords can sound a little bit uncomfortable at times. But having a password manager that allows me to do it safely makes it so much better. NordPass lets me quickly and securely share my passwords and other sensitive information like credit card details.

-----------------------------------------------

⭐ Autofill

Typing out your complex passwords every time would be annoying, wouldn’t it? That’s why there is an autofill feature. I’ve tested it on both providers and I’ve gotta say that NordPass’ autofill feature is a little bit more convenient. It does pretty much everything I need.

-----------------------------------------------

⭐ Password importing

Another convenient feature that any contender for the best password manager 2023 should have is password importing. With both NordPass and 1Password my password importing was really smooth and quick. In just a few clicks I managed to transfer my saved passwords from my browser.

-----------------------------------------------

Final thoughts ➡️

I’ll give a slight advantage to NordPass here in this face-off. Its strong security and advanced encryption are the biggest selling points. Beyond that, it has robust and well-integrated features. It also includes excellent ease of use, great customer support, and while both contenders of this NordPass vs 1Password comparison are fairly priced, NordPass simply takes the cake with its more feature-rich offering.

Currently I am using 1password but i also am using NordVPN, I am still trying to decide if I should switch to NordPass. I'm an IT computer guy, running VMware Workstation on my large Windows machines and have an IMac & Ipad, so do you think it is worth switching to NordPass?

Nord, specifically with their VPN has a mixed track record when it comes to security. 1Password, like you say in the video might only have 99% of the features or ease of use, but their track record is solid.

1Password is the winner for me

What about having to log into nordpass all the time? And that there is no locking feature that I can find on the chrome extension, so if I'm in and I wanna turn it off, I then have to press 3 (!) buttons to do so, whereas it would be nice to right click on the extension and have a locking little icon. That would take 2 (1) clicks. Much better.
