Team Seymour relocated more than 40 F-15E Strike Eagles, 6 KC-135R Stratotankers from the 916th Air Refueling Wing and over 200 Airmen in a large force movement. The move is a precautionary measure to avoid potential damage from high winds from Hurricane Matthew.

I grew up at SJAFB, good ole Goldsboro... kinda. I rode my bike almost everyday to the flight line. I would sneak through the woods to get right next to the taxiways and watch the aircraft in the early-mid 90s. There were times I'd crawl right up next to the taxiway and lay in the grass. Depending on what aircraft came by but wings would nearly go over my head. My heart would be pounding so hard, those Eagles were so awesome up close.

Since when do they go back to KC-10s out there? While I was there they transfered all the KC-10s and went to only kc-135s.

I did a couple of years at the Shady J as a crew chief on the E models back in the early 90s. I didn't see the last jet I was "assigned to" in the video though, 89-0485. A bit of Google-fu shows it is still at SJ but no longer in the 335th.

Very sad so many F-22 got badly damage when they weren't able to fly out of the base in Florida a few years ago when that hurricane struck. Never heard how many had to be scrapped.
