So - the comments here are wild. The ticket was ridiculous and retaliation. The payment where the clerk just walked off the job was completely absurd. Sending the court cops ALL FIVE OF THEM WAS THE ULTIMATE IN ABSURDITY. The court cops do NOT take payments for tickets - the CLERKS do - the COPS HAVE NO ROLE IN THIS TRANSACTION. So those of you criticizing this guy as being an ass - what is the appropriate response? Thanks everyone for NOT DOING YOUR JOBS? Thanks cops for coming out to interfere in a transaction that you cannot do? Thanks clerk for walking off your job for 15 minutes? Thanks to the cops for writing me a bogus ticket? This is the ultimate example of what is wrong with our criminal justice system. Every single aspect of the system has gone off the rails and NO ONE IS KEEPING THEM ACCOUNTABLE.

"cash and checks only" what about 197 checks for one dollar each? true story. an ex girlfriend managed a bank branch and told me that a really pissed off customer, and old indian guy, came to the bank 10 min before they closed, stood in line and then handed the teller a thick wad of checks for $0.01 dollars (a penny) each and demanded for them to deposit each one into his account. I can't remember why they pissed him of but they had no choice but to do it. my ex tried to offer him an apology and to work something out to not have to do that..but he refused and waited until he got a receipt for ALL the 1 penny checks.

Wow, I really admire you for challenging the way they serve. My husband was a cop in Kansas and Military Police & Special Forces. He shared that "the police are not your friends". It was a mentality of "us verses them". How sad! Now this was about 35 years ago, I don't know what it is now. But it is not looking very good.
