I love my Mac Mini for studying. I specifically wanted a desktop to force myself to sit down at a fixed place and work from there. Laptops sometimes lead you to just lying on the couch and not working productively. In class I use an iPad with the pencil and a keyboard which is the ultimate notetaking and script making machine imo

I just got the base 13 inch MacBook pro for an insane steal for my CS Degree and I love it, I don't mind a touch bar (upgrading from a Lenovo carbon x3)

I am looking for something for my daughter, a high schooler, next school year; I want to buy something that will last 5 to 6 years(if possible). I am not high on tech but low on budget. My daughter is not into games or arts, so she would need a laptop to do her classwork and homework assignments. She could do that on Chromebooks, but I want her to have a better device; if she wants to synchronize it with her Apple phone (iPhone 14 pro max), that shouldn't be a problem. I am unable to pick between i5, i7, and M1.
I have a Lenovo YOGA 6 13ARE05 2-in-1 13.3" Notebook, Ryzen 7, and Macbook Air A2337 from work, and I love both. The Lenovo keyboard has the delete and backspace buttons that I LOVE.
I am looking for something similar for her, so please advise me.

Anyway. I need your help please. I currently have the 2019 MacBook Pro 15”. I’m planning to upgrade to the m3 MacBook Pro, but I’m not sure which one to buy because if I buy the 14” I think I’m gonna feel that it’s to small, but I would love to carry it around all day long.

In the other side I would like to buy the 16” because it’s a big screen, bigger than my 15”. But I’m thinking about the weight, do you think it’s too heavy to carry? Or is it worth to carry because of the bigger screen?

I’m a college student, I’m studying petroleum engineering so that’s why I’m getting a pro model
