India is championing the African Union's bid to join the G20. India says that there have been positive responses from the other members.

The African Union represents 55 countries. Currently, it is a permanent guest of the G20.

The African continent has only one member in the G20 presently, South Africa. Getting the AU a full membership is a step towards just representation.

Africa and India must be included in all representative organizations especially in the UN Security Council. 1.5 billion people live in Africa 1.4 billion live in India and the USA and each of the other countries except China are dwarfed population wise by Africa and India. Any country with good intentions cannot object to these recommendations.

Having them a permanent membership would be equivalent to the Brussels EU, but Africa would still be outnumbered by European countries. That would then make only 4 neutral countries.
