He’s still under contract with AEW and is on their roster, this side gig he’s doing isn’t anything new he’s been doing this for a few years now. Since he’s still on the roster and the fact that AEW recently put out new merchandise for him, there’s probably a good chance he’ll be back. Hate to sound like a total mark, but maybe since Punk suffered a torn tricep at All Out maybe the whole backstage fight was a work so that him and the elite can heal from their injuries. I don’t believe Punk is gone from wrestling until he says so himself.

I like Punk way a lot more than the bucks and omega.

Bucks and omega can't hold a candle to Punk and I'm not even a huge Punk fan.

Nothing he said had anything to do with AEW or the fight backstage. He said "I've missed the fights", as in the fights he's commentating. He's saying he missed commentating MMA because he hasn't done it in a while. This is quite obvious from context clues if you would just pay the slightest bit of attention.
