In this video I show you how to replace the wireless card in your laptop and I make a quick review of the Intel 8265 NGW vs the Killer 1435.

Alternate title and thumbnail could be me holding my face in disbelief and say "OMG best wireless card ever 2017!!!"...not!

Why do people put terrible music in the background of videos, this video needs no music at all.

Yes it is worth. Last week I swapped out the Killer card for the Intel card, much to the consternation of the Dell tech support folks who were absolutely convinced it wasn't the card but software issues. Everything that they checked I had previously checked. Why they continue to use the Killer cards (recommend per their website) I don't know. Bluetooth wasn't working but as soon as I put in the Intel card back in business. Best $20 I have spent in a long time!

I've heard it said that those Killers have some deep access to a lot of background processes to prioritize bandwidth. A lot of those background processes are flagged by Windows firewall as suspicious since the killer has access to system files that it really shouldn't have. Additionally, Windows biannual major updates often change those system process and break compatibility, requiring a driver update from the manufacturer to correct.

Thank you so much, I have been wanting to do this for a while. Love the quick, simple video.

I have the 2017 Razer Blade Pro and it also comes with the Killer 1535 card and its very shitty. Drops connection everytime. I just ordered this card off Amazon for $23. Can't wait to swap it out

I question killer's materials/assembly. I've taking off dozens of these antennas and this 1435 card had the pad snap right off and the circular part broke off will inside the Ipex connector. so the solder gave, the plastic fell apart and now I'm left with a mess and a choice of trying to find new antenna or send it to MSI and hope they put in new parts.

Can't believe how many videos I have watched lately of people fucking around inside laptop from something as simple as this to repasting the CPU and GPU and no one has ever stated what step one actually should be once removing the cover from the laptop...DISCONNECT THE FUCKING BATTERY!!!!

I have never had problems with killer dropping signal. My problem is their control software. It causes super bad memory leaks in windows 10. It was causing me to have green and blue screens of death until removing the software and just having the drivers installed.

I have developed a deep hatred for the antenna connectors. Why do they put such a horrible connector on these?
I noticed you did the same thing almost every review does. Start reconnecting them, the cut to finishing it successfully.
Probably to cut out a lot of bad language, lol. I know I use colorful language during the process.
Thank you for the video! It is one of the best I have found (even after 6 years).

I own a max specced XPS15 which is a great laptop but the shitty killer card leads to constant disconnects in League of Legends..

My Killer 1525 has been bugging me forever. Yes, it performs comparably on paper, but whenever the amount of present networks exceeds 8 or so, it starts losing signal or even drop connection altogether. Enabled Bluetooth will also drop your connection speeds substantially. Bluetooth performance is also sub par as occasional interference persists and connection drops consistently across several devices.
So yeah, Intel for the win.

in regards to old drivers when the new hardware is good to go, specifically the wifi card. My question is I know you need to remove the old wifi card drivers but do I additionally need to remove the Bluetooth ones aswell?

This device may work correctly. Need to disable mode - "Allow power-off device to save power" and select wireless mode 08-11 a/b/g/n/ . Good luck, guys

Just swapped the intel 3168 to a new 9250. Nice improvement as the low end intel cards suck, and the killer stuff is even worse.

I have a 2016 Razer Blade and the killer wireless 1535 is awful. Many drop outs. All i can do is reset many times. I'm tempted to pick this up on eBay and install it myself. I just want good wireless!

Killer 1535 was randomly disconnecting in ubuntu, and BSOD in Windows when changing adapter settings on my laptop, recently purchased an intel 8265 to replace it, hopefully this will fix all my issues for good.

In windows though, I noticed that if you remove the Killer Network Manager application, there seems to be less issues (at least the BSOD disappeared and there isn't any speed drop, I can achieve ~300mbit/s on 5Ghz AC wifi (mikrotik hAP AC router).

Btw. for speed measurments I'd recommend iPerf application. You can launch a server on one computer and the client on the other and test speeds that way.

You missed the real reason why you would swap to the 8265. #1 It's Wireless AC wave 2, thus features MU-MIMO. Technically you should only be upgrading to the 8265 if you have a router that is AC Wave 2 aka. MU-MIMO.
