MT5 Expert Advisor Tester vs. Live - Are Strategy Tester Results Valid?

If you are not using a cheating EA (which knows where to place the trades in the past), then the "every tick based on real ticks" will always reflect reality of that broker. The "open prices only" method can also be replicated on a live account nearly 1:1 if you control the opening tick. You can add a settings into the EA to choose the bar processing method (every tick, 1min OHLC (4 ticks per 1min bar), and Open Only (1 tick per bar)), basically a tick filter.

hi Rene, thanks you for this video. It shows very well how the strategy tester can help.

In my case I coudnt find the error yet as the live system doesnt open all positions/trades the strategy tester did, even i use the same EA, time frame and so on.

Do you have any idea why it could be like that?
