Windmax HY-1000 24 turbine hitting 1kw with Sun G 22-60v 1kw grid tie inverter

So for this video I switched to the 22-60v 1kw during this higher-wind event (I bought several different GTIs to experiment with based on my location, wind patterns, etc.). Higher winds kicked even this higher-voltage GTI into divert/dump mode pretty quickly, but it "recovered" back into producing good watts within 2-3 seconds. I get 1001 watts at about 2:45 and have several easy 800w and 900w readings...not too shabby keeping in mind you lose some efficiency with the inverter...

Great job Windmax/Sun and many thanks to the many helpful wind energy "gurus" out there who have shared their experiences and advice with me as I've experimented with my system. 'Obviously getting my turbine up higher on a better tower/pole will only improve performance...right now my mounting job leaves plenty to be desired ;)

Those are some really impressive numbers.

Pop that turbine another 10-15 ft in the air and it should smooth out and increase the power production. Great video.

I bet you are glad you had Larry and Tom around to help. Those guys know their stuff.

i got the smaller 400w/12v but can't complain with its production. I just posted a vid hitting 440w on the little baby. glad i discovered another good channel

hi friend listen, i have a doubt.
i bought a chinese vertical axis wind turbine 500W 24V AC 3 phase.
and i bought a 22-60V grid tie inverter.
O noticed that the generator delyvers arround 15V-22V in good winds ( arround 8m/s)

but the inverter is not connecting the wind turbine to the grid, i measure the amps and there is very low amps.

do i have to switch to a 10-30V grid tie inverter?
what do you suggest?

thanks pal
