At a bar called Mr. Kiley's in Chicago they had an open stage on Tuesdays. One night Delbert McClinton came in and tore the roof off the place. I stood in the back of the room nursing a beer in amazement. There were maybe 50-60 other musicians in the place. Delbert sang for 3 hours straight. Consumate showman. No tricks just straight ahead, grab you by the throat rock n roll, blues, country, swing, funk and sweat. The dance floor never emptied. It was fcking awesome.
