ANU Astrophysicist and Cosmologist Dr Brad Tucker says astronomers have caught a glimpse of a black hole eating a star.

“When stars get close to a black holes they eat them it’s a process we call spaghettification,” Dr Tucker told Sky News Australia.

“Often you get these huge jets shooting out the top.

“In this case what they saw was not a jet it was what we call a hot pocket, almost, of gas.

“It’s kind of giving us a unique insight into one of the very big steps into the black hole, essentially, feeding process of these stars.”

What about the planet's, etc, around the star ? They obviously get gobbled up.
It's interesting to know that eventually I and my planet be a microscopic part of the densest matter known. Will a man be somewhere watching it ?
