A Gibson slope shoulder has been the first choice for singer-songwriters for decades. And it hardly seems to matter how much such a guitar has been through; precisely when they are 'vintage', they have a certain magic about them that cannot be surpassed artificially.

This Southern Jumbo was made in the period just after Gibson's 'Banner Era' and thus shows the gold 'block' logo on the headstock. It also clearly shows its 75 years of life with the weather checking, worn lacquer spots, a couple of repaired cracks on the top and one on the side of the body. The treble side of the body has also had an overspray and a touch-up can be seen at the pickguard. Nevertheless, it is still in good condition for its age.

So its battered appearance tells the story of many songs and performances. And perhaps that's what creates the magic, because it still sounds very powerful and resonant! It also plays well with its firm C-shaped neck and rosewood fingerboard that has had a refret and its radius adjusted to 10". The spruce top and mahogany sides and back provide that punchy sound, and make it an excellent choice for both strumming and fingerpicking.

Comes in a hardshell case with TFOA passport.
