✅ What is the CSS z-index property?

The z-index property in CSS is used to specify the stack order of an element. An element with a higher z-index value is always in front of an element with a lower z-index value.

The z-index property only works on positioned elements (elements with position: absolute, position: relative, or position: fixed). By default, positioned elements have a z-index value of auto, which means they follow the normal stacking order. However, when you set the z-index value to a specific number, that element will be stacked relative to other elements on the page according to the specified value.

For example, if you have two elements, one with a z-index value of 1 and the other with a z-index value of 10, the element with a z-index value of 10 will be positioned in front of the element with a z-index value of 1.
