Full highlights from the Women's Uneven Bars Final from the North Greenwich Arena at the London 2012 Olympic Games. Russia's Aliya Mustafina won Gold with China's He Kexin in Silver and Great Britain's Elizabeth Tweddle with the Bronze medal.

Artistic gymnastics was introduced at the very first Olympic Games in 1896 in Athens, and has been present at every edition of the Games since then. At the beginning, it comprised disciplines that are difficult to qualify as "artistic", such as climbing and acrobatics.

The foundations of the Olympic gymnastics programme were laid at the 1924 Games in Paris, when the men's apparatus individual and team competitions appeared. In 1928, women were included in the Amsterdam Games. It was not until 1952 that the women's programme was developed, with seven events, and then stabilised at six events as from the 1960 Games in Rome. =========================================

Is it just me or does anyone else find it extremely adorable when the gymnasts wave at the camera.

HOW IS NOBODY TALKING ABOUT ELIZABETH SEITZ LIKE THAT ROUTINE WAS INCREDIBLE!!!!

Who are these commentators? They both sound very nice and warm, and the woman is especially soft spoken and sweet. Most importantly, they are mostly very positive, encouraging, and not critical, and seem fair regardless of the gymnast's country origin. Overall a soothing experience to follow their voices. I found them way better than the NBC crew of Tim Dagget et al. who are literally exacerbating.

I usually watch gymnastics on NBC, where the commentators are forever judging the Russians and Chinese, and being cocky about how amazing the Americans are. So lovely to watch a British version where the commentators are so encouraging and so amused with how good they ALL are. Great stuff.

British commentators are the best for these types of competitions. They always acknowledge the qualities and efforts of all the gymnasts.

I like these commentators a lot. Usually they're really critical and annoying.

When the announcer said "as they enter the arena" I was like "may the odds ever be in your favor" 😂

Elizabeth Seitz still killing it in 2019 with that same smile on her face all the time. She is not only talented but so chill and fun to watch.

Aliya's routine may have been "boring", but it was technically perfect. Very clean cut, and that's what the judges look for.

Shannon is such a good commentator. Very thoughtful considered observations & better, IMHO, than Nastia. Nastia is still pretty new at it, though. She'll probably get better. She needs to stand up to Tim Daggett more. I love Tim, but I get really annoyed when he sits there "correcting" her about beam technique or something similar. I mean, really.

I'll consider this is one of the best Olympic Ub finals, here's why:
-all routines looks original, bringing their own style of release skills, transitions, pirouettes
-he kexin's release combo, till now it's mind-blowing.
-komova's pak, let's don't talk about her mistake. She floats on her transition
-yao's dismount. totally a queen of dlos
-Beth tweedles entire routine, look how dynamic is her movements. Just that dismount were close.
-seitz geinger full is terrific to see, it's rare to see it this quad
-mustafina's entire routine. totally well deserving gold medal routine.🥇

Tweddle is quite possibly one of the best last names ever

The thing you gotta love about Beth Tweddle is that after Mustafina got her score, she smiles and claps for her; even though you can tell she’s nervous about not medaling.
