James, you’re a first rate teacher, as well as a fine artist. Thank you for sharing your insights and experience.

Thanks this was very helpful. I have done the copying for so long. Even trying out two of yours, which you have seen. Sorry for copying those by the way. Lately after watching these I been coming out of my shell and creating my own scenes and inspiration not just from here but from other sources. Thank you for getting me inspired again. I was in a slump for so long that I wasn’t interested in doing it anymore. Was suffering from headaches, which made me really depressed. Then I recently found out the headaches was caused from a pituitary tumor and drawing again is helping me take my mind off of it. Thank you!

What if I like pretty much all art styles and art? I can’t help it I love art so much :( Realism, cartoony stuff. Everything. Idk what direction to go in rip. Thanks for all the tips though! Been doing art seriously for 2 and s half years and still don’t have a style.

Great advice....especially the part about there are no shortcuts....you really can’t get the past just getting out there and doing it. That is something I haven’t put into practice for a long time. Life has gotten in the way but your videos have brought me back to forcing myself to find the time for art. Thanks so much for that and I hope to start making time for drawing everyday even if it’s just a few minutes.

Great video. Thanks! Question for you... For a beginner artist starting to draw, do you think I’d get the same “sketch book” experience using Procreate and Apple Pencil or is it better to start with traditional pencil and paper first?

Great, love Giger and Turner too! Turner because he wasn't afraid to represent the modern technologies of his time!

Excellent. Can you help me please? In Procreate, can i copy art i created on a layer and copy/paste that specific layer into a new procreate canvas? Such as cattails, grass etc?

Nice mix of artists that I also enjoy. I’m surprised you haven’t got Roger Dean in there though James. He’s right up your street!

Lol....Art College 😜 I went to Melbourne School of Art many years ago & studied fine art, graphics & an abundance of other subjects to round out my curriculum... no computer art back then, well besides a few graphic programs like Quark & Pagemaker. I know my professor would be rolling in his grave if he saw me working in digital as I am now. As for the rest of the fine art a life people, open your imagination to the possibilities of digital knows you may like it & even learn something!! Sorry went of on a bit of a tangent there....
