In this video I want to show how to install ubuntu server 18.04LTS and install GUI in VirtualBox .

Download links:
Install GUI command :
Time video :
9:20 $ tasksel --list-task
9:39 $sudo apt install tasksel
10:50 $sudotasksel install ubuntu-mate-core
11:30 $ sudo service lightdm start

You can choose what a GUI to install:
Lubuntu Core Server Desktop: $ sudo tasksel install lubuntu-core
Xubuntu Server Core Desktop: $ sudo tasksel install xubuntu-core
Xfce Desktop : $ sudo apt install xfce4 slim

Conclusion
So many choices of GUI's for your Ubuntu server! Pick wisely, the bigger the better, does not necessary apply in this case. I have deliberately avoided KDE and GNOME graphical user interfaces. The reason being is that they are perhaps the least suited graphical user interfaces for any server. However, if you feel to install KDE on your
Ubuntu 18.04 server you can do it by:
$ sudo tasksel kubuntu-desktop
If GNOME is what you are after enter:
$ sudo tasksel ubuntu-desktop
