Sheriff's Office Hosts Inaugural Inmate Job Fair

Tuesday, June 4, 2019 was an extremely significant day for the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office. Thanks to the innovative leadership and personnel within our Corrections Services Bureau, we held our very first inmate job fair! We invited eight local businesses along with several CEOs into our Re-Entry Pod to talk to inmates about how to succeed after incarceration. During a two-hour class in the morning, inmates learned how to conduct job searches, build their resume, prepare for a job interview and more. After lunch, these same inmates had the unique opportunity to meet with local employers and apply for current job openings.
