Andrew points out things I would never think to test. I am blown away by how much work he puts into his testing and comparing of different settings. He has great hearing! Thank you for sharing your insight with us all, Andrew!

Thank you, Andrew! Such an eye opener. Just unbelievable how often we are misled by the manufactures. Thank you for doing the tests to show us the differences, as well as confronting the manual statements.

Hey guys. What was your experience with Volt? Put it as the separate comment so I can see it.

I was waiting for this video! Funny mistake on the specs haha. I appreciate your analysis of the converters quality. I felt exactly the same when I compared it to Apollo.

Wow! The best review ever! Cons explained and honest opinion! Advanced things like the preamp’s tone explanation is mega useful! Those UAudio’s mistakes are truly astonishing. I’m an expert in 1176. You say all correct things.

Interesting comparison. Still it's a shame for such renowned brands to show absolute neglect of beginner audio customers by doing confusing statements about the specs and providing the manual, which gives you more trouble than help.
Thank you, Andrew.

Again, the result of analitical/experimental audio engineering, which brings out conclusions only possible with Andrew's experience and continous search for perfection and audio processing. Marketing and branding is very strong nowadays and the vast majority of times obfuscates reality of things. Thanks Andrew for another priceless video and priceless real world information! You're Nr1. !

In the commercials for these types of audio interfaces, the manufacturer says they are designed for "songwriteing", i.e. creating demos, not professional recordings (and I totally agree) I had a bad experience with the Volt 1, connected to an Audio Technica 4050SM the sound is too choked, the camera air no longer enters the microphone capsule... (too dense sound which made it hard to hear the details of the instrumentals) The stereo image is very narrow, I didn't like what I heard at all (connected to the HS7) A week after I bought it I sold it to a friend who needed it more.

By the way, best and unbiased review of the UAD Volt! Thank you for making it!

Interesting video, Andrew. I was considering these interfaces but haven't actually bought any of the Volts and stayed with my SSL 2+ and Audient EVO4 as they are all I need for the time being. Thank you as always for your detailed reviews. By the way, I always laugh about your "psycho" analyses 😂

Appreciate you’re perspective. Looking for a mobile interface for an iPad Pro. Wondering how the EVO 4 compares to the Volt 1.

So it’s better SSL 2+ than UAD Volt 276??

I'm finishing the course this week. Here's my review.

I have been watching video tutorials and reading forums for 5-6 years prior to enrolling in the course.

And I have found very useful information. But...
There is so much information out there on the internet, and there are so many ways to tackle a problem in the audio world, you soon get totally lost in endless hours of tutorials and how-to's.
And you always feel that you don't know something. That you are missing something. And you don't know what you are missing.

Exactly that problem Andrew's course started to resolve for me. It gives you a framework in which you can place all the aspects of mixing (or bettering the sound if you are a producer).
It lays down a path - an algorithm of some very essential milestones you have to pass in every mix. And Andrew explains why it's better to do it that way.
This algorithm is absolutely essential if you are new to mixing (or even if you have some experience which you've acquired by yourself).

The whole mixing concept is divided into several main topic categories, and each category is taught for multiple hours. Very extensively. The reverb topic alone was something like 20 or more hours!
I thought I knew almost everything about the Panorama topic. I was totally wrong.
It turned out there were so many things I didn't know about that very important aspect of mixing. He gives you a system of sound and instrument placement even for the panorama. And the system is very good.
There is a system for EQ-ing. That was one of the very best things in the course (one of many).

When you finish a topic, you have a feeling that you understand it in a completely different manner - you have confidence that you know the topic reasonably well. You have the feeling you don't make shots in the dark anymore.
Of Course there are many many things you don't know, but somehow you have the base of knowledge which you can start to upgrade with practice.

There is one very important aspect of mixing which you cannot learn by yourself and it is to acquire aesthetic understanding for the sound. So when you hear a kick drum for example, to understand what's wrong with it - does it lack a punch, does it sound too boomy, or it has too much sub. That kind of thing.
You start to learn that aspect. You have to make many, many more mixes to become better in this faculty but you already have the base. You start to know what's wrong with something when you hear it. You don't become an expert, but you start to understand it.
Prior to that, if I heard a kick which I didn't like, I didn't know what exactly was wrong with it. Is it just too low in the mix? Or something else. If there were some annoying frequencies, which are they exactly?

You do homework checking sessions in which you mix songs, Andrew reviews them in the class and points out what kind of mistakes you've made. You learn many, many things that way.
After finishing the course, it's like you have a tree of knowledge and when you learn something new, you just put it on a particular branch, enriching your understanding of that aspect.
The tree is there, standing firmly, not changing, you just put more things on the branches, you continue the growth of the branches.

I highly recommend the course...

Hello Andrey! this kind of video is extremely necessary from you! there are a lot of reviews on YouTube, but 90% of them are useless videos, since some people are not professionals, they do not quite understand all aspects and nuances. Thanks!
