In this journal entry I will have some fun with chess. Psion Chess is a program I've had since I've owned my QL in the late 80's and early 90's. I don't always beat it when I play but I'm curious how good it is so I'll be pitting it against the top player in the world, one who has been #1 for the past 10 years. Let's see how a program written in the early 1980's for the Sinclair QL holds up against the worlds best.

I bought the SINCLAIR QL in the 80s for the PSION chess game. It was excellent programme that was better than all other computer programms of the time. I was very happy the few times I managed to beat it. Most other programms of the time were stupid but with the PSION made by Richard Lang you felt you were playing against a grandmaster. Great memories.

Hi, I remember pitting my Spectrum against a dedicated chess computer, one with the little plastic pieces a while back. Dont recall the outcome but it was interesting to experiment. Now that I have a Amiga and a Spectrum I may try it again to see how they compare to each other and the dedicated machine.
