In the Beast Wars/Beast Machines canon, Rhinox was a Maximal that was converted into a vehicon and brainwashed into being Tankor. Even after his memory was restored, Rhinox technically didn't become a Predacon, nor rejoined the Maximals. Instead, he became is own person, seeking to overthrow Megatron by any means necessary. Even if it meant betraying and killing his formed friends.
