Frank Turek tells Hitchens that He is Stealing from God

Can atheists be moral? Yes indeed. But how can atheists justify their morality with a purely materialistic world view? On what basis can Hitchens call God "not great" if he doesn't believe in objective right and wrong? Frank tells him that he is sitting in God's lap to slap His face.

I never really saw what the big deal was with Hitchens. In his debates he has some good points, but then he fails to stay on topic.

Frank is sharper even than William Lane Craig. I mean it is not enough only to defend the truth. You have to expose the lie too.

I hear lots of vitriol and 4 letter words directed at Mr. Turek, but very little in terms of rational arguments or evidence against what he is saying. Both Hitchens and Turek are 2 of the best in arguing their respective points of view (William Lane Craig and Douglas Wilson are excellent as well). Give both men their due. I believe Turek is treating Hitchens with personal and intellectual respect while disagreeing with him.

Frank has the rare ability to pick up on and relate to the audience Hitchen's illogic, moral inconsistency and intellectual dishonesty. Hitchins is an arrogant con man who hides behind his blurted and barely intelligible speech.

I wish that Mr. Turek would have made much more of his first point. "I want to point out that most of what Christopher just said there is pretty much complaints about religion and religious people and has no impact on whether or not God exists."


All the atheist has to offer can be categorized as "objections". Objections to a particular hypothesis which is very easy to do and the more charismatically those objections can be made the easier it is to persuade those who are already predisposed to agree with them. These men are merely providing, to the minds of those who already do not believe, excuses to justify their non-belief which they themselves are incapable of expressing themselves.


But what Christopher Hitchens and men like him cannot do and never do do, which is much more difficult and requires actual intellectual and philosophical depth, is to offer a superior alternative hypothesis to the real questions of life.


For regardless if the Bible is true or not, the questions of life still need to be answered and the atheists have nothing that even approaches an honest attempt to address them.
