Why Do College Campuses Have So Many Protests?

Why do so many social movements start on college campuses? KJ Kearney looks at student protests from the 1960s through today to learn how close knit communities and a culture of critical thinking create so many student activists, and how we can all stay connected to civic engagement long after graduation.

Citizen Better follows KJ Kearney as he finds the ‘informal’ ways to be civically engaged in everyday life so that viewers can feel empowered to make a meaningful impact on the reg rather than just on election days. Like shoes, one size does not fit all, “trying on” various types of informal civic engagement KJ will find what pairs suit him to make a footprint in our democracy.

Students freshly out of their parent’s/guardian’s space have time to think and protest (many do not have the burden of having a job take up most of their time). It’s beautiful and the best way for new generations to speak up.
