Tapan Kadia, MD, The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX, discusses treatment approaches for elderly/unfit patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) who are ineligible for intensive chemotherapy, drawing focus on the importance of novel agents and lower-intensity approaches. Dr Kadia first highlights the growing role of venetoclax combined with a hypomethylating agent (HMA), and further discusses the growing role of combination approaches and antibody therapies.
