Hawken plays more like a traditional FPS while this is more like actually piloting a vehicle.

You will never have this level of quality again, internet.

This is what happens when an inept and incompetent shovelware company purchases the early assets of a game created by real developers. They end up realizing that they can't keep up with beta-level quality and start absolutely shitting the bed.

Early Forest Colony and the early mechs would be ashamed if they could see how far the game has fallen under the control of these chimpanzees.

If the (incredibly small)playerbase had a weekend to play one of these old early beta builds.they'd probably riot after the event was over because the game is just that much worse.

You never played a mechwarrior game before, have you? Mechwarrior is a tactical simulator not a fast-paced game. The "repeatedly hit one part of the robot till it breaks" is a vital gameplay tactic, as it let's you weaken enemies considerably. Still, if thats too time consuming for, aim for the center of the robot body. Crits galore! Also the Light mechs will give you some fast-paced action (unless you're driving a trashca- Urbanmech).

I love the beta soooo much. My Hunchie stood up to 2 atlases, with crit armor, until a teammate capped point and won us the match.

its about weapon management, using the right weapon at the right time. managing your heat level hitting vital parts on the enemy mech. its not just running circles around eachoter randomly firing lasers

Dubstep is the vibrator of music. It gets you there but you don't get to feel its loving embrace.

I wasn't sure about the lasers until i realized that they actually work in the same way that lasers do in real life. They don't fly in discreet units of light like shiny bullets.

Ever since the end of Chromehounds, I have been waiting for something like this. Western Mecha with realistic weapon damage, Large open grid-based maps, Destructible Parts, Slow Clunkers and Fast movers...
and to top it all, its running on the CryEngine 3.

I'm confused... how is this not the same game we've been playing for the last 15+ years? Same lumbering mech designs, same weapons, and I assume the same clan-warfare plot no one cares about. Online play? Great job, you've met the bare-minimum of what can be called a game these days. I can't wait to hop in one of these massive engines of war and destruction and experience the pulse-pounding action of "overheating".
