How in the world are you getting the density by dividing the weight of the crystal and water by the weight of just the water? I am very confused. If you had a heavier or lighter crystal the weight would have changed and as a result so would your final answer. Also I can not think of a single reason to leave the crystal in the water instead of fully pulling it out.

Some crystals are not supposed to be exposed to water...so be careful doing this.

This doesn't make sense because if the crystals bigger wouldn't it get a bigger number and why is the water not weighed and what if it's a bigger amount or a smaller amount of water even though it's teared to zero it's still could change the numbers being displayed by the crystal
