How to create a Work Schedule (Roster) using Excel

Recently I made this beautiful, interactive and automated Employee Roster using Excel. In this video let me explain how I made it and how you can use it to assign employees to shifts.

Using this scheduling tool, you can plan and set up your employees on an interactive calendar view.

Using this roster you can,
👉 You can set up (upto 3) employees on shifts across a 4 week grid.
👉 See who is working on what days with staff pictures
👉 Manage employee's time off and get alerted if you map someone on their day off.
👉 Look at staff allocation and workloads in a graph to see who is doing more and who is doing less work.
👉 Beautiful, simple and elegant worksheet to interactively manage the shift / roster.

Hey Chandoo, would you be able to create step by step excel sheet for staff timesheet. As staff comes in they can scan their unique barcodes and the sheet takes the time. Time in, time out, break in, break out and lunch in, lunch out, time out. Total hours of shift worked deducting break times. Thanks

Hi Chandoo. Very nice made! One other drawback of this model is that it only sees one month. What if an employee worked many hours in the previous month? You want to take this into consideration as well. You also want to see the cumulative hours per year. For calculating the numbers of days per employee you used the VSTACK, but why did you not just used COUNTIF and use the “planning range” as input?

Your employee list isn't dynamic? Use in AM5: =unique(filter(B5:B15, B5:B15<>"", "")) and in the list conditional formatting =$AM$5#
