The Lowrider Band: The World Is A Ghetto

Показать описание
The magnificent Lowrider Band consists of surviving members of War.
Howard Scott on guitar/vocals, Harold Brown on drums, BB Dickerson on bass/vocals, and Lee Oskar on Harmonica.
Lonnie Jordan, original keyboard player, currently tours using the War name, and hopefully we may be able to see them all play together again someday.
War is one of the greatest bands of all time. Hands down.
We did get some interviews together and shot this powerful performance here at Yoshi's in San Francisco.

Probably one of the greatest songs ever composed. It's eternally relevant. The world is truly a ghetto. His voice brings me to tears. Amazing.

Im listening to this and am reminded of all the great music from the 60's and 70's. What's ridiculous about this is that this was a big hit in 1972/73, but we had a TON of hits like this! Hell, WAR had a TON of hits like this! The whole idea is mind-boggling. No wonder it's difficult to warm up to rap and today's music. We've ALREADY heard the best there ever was!

I have watched this video 5 times in the last 3 days. I could have watched more if I had the time. It's unbelievable, each one of these guys are playing their souls out. This is a musicians' show. Sorry young guys, no lights, dancers or explosions; just great music.

Growing up in the late 60's to early 70's in a small texas town, it was this kind of music that got us through life and that's no joke. Poor as hell we knew that we could turn on "WAR" and . . .baby, it was alright. No one has duplicated this sound since the early 70's. When you hear "WAR" you know what it is. Timeless.

If Lonnie Jordan could get a clue, he would realize that he needs to be back with these cats.
