That Christmas pageant story was the most Wednesday thing ever.

I'd already fallen in love with her acting talent since I was a kid, but the first time I saw "Mermaids" I was an adult and I was shocked by how good she was at such a young age! She blew veteran actors all the way off the screen in her scenes. Such a talented actor.

The story about Cher is great, & an important illustration of the fact that many children, of various ages, often tend to assume they are the fault or cause of problems. If you've ever told your kids that you can't afford certain things, even for a period of time, many kids will internalize that, & worry about the cost of things, or offer their own money to help the family. Its a really important thing to understand, trouble between parents, a sibling who struggles, all kinds of issues will affect kids that way.

If a documentary is ever made about Sally Field, Christina Ricci should play the role. She is her
Doppelgänger.

That's why it's important to have people who look like you, are fond of you and keep you in their best interests.

makes you wonder who that little boy actor might have turned out to be if he'd done the lead part at age 7? haha - one of those defining moments! glad she did though, she's been great since she started.
