Just a tip, you can also cast your splinter storm directly on your sentinel, and since it's always close to you, casting mass vitrify will reset the timer on it too. Also you're basically double your damage output from splinter storm this way.

A few tips; she's my 2nd most used frame.

1) you can cast your 2 on sentinel by crouching and casting up at it, may take a few. Then you have a 2nd damage instance as well as the protection.

2) Try arcane aegis. I can stand in steel path and never lose my shields lol. I just use primed vigor instead is all.

3) try pillage on her lol. Especially for grineer with the armor strip, but 90% damage reduction on shields + pillage is just broken.

The biggest thing to remember with Gara is that she is extremely flexible in her builds in getting what you want out of her. In this case it shows a great solo build but in group content you can alter things slightly depending on what frames your group is running with. For example if you're running with a Protea then you'll likely never run out of HP or Energy and can pretty easily set up an ultimate defence build for Defence runs, lower the range, and possibly the HP (as you'll be sitting on Protea health pack most of the time) but adding a bit more duration and strenght.

Also if you don't want to run a Miter any beam weapon is usually a great alternative. I've run Gammacor with Gara for so long now because it just melts nullifier shields like butter.

Resist knokdown is what defines a tank, otherwise you're just a very resilient ragdoll...
Don't be an Inarus, the most useless frame in the game but with tons of HP (unless properly modded, but there are a lot of much better tanks, including Gara)

I like running Natural Talent instead of streamline. If you've got Zenurik and Arcane Energize you'll never have an energy issue and the extra casting speed is very nice

If you put eclipse on Gara, you can get 300k damage every time

replace her mirrors ability with garuda's blood altar for the heals or octavia's resonator to make enemies ignore you = obscene levels of broken
