Powertrain Analysis using nCode DesignLife

Summary:
The powertrain is comprised of multiple components including the engine, transmission, driveline, and differential. Each of these require different approaches for fatigue analysis to be both effective and efficient.
This presentations focuses on two different sets of components of the engine the first are internal components that undergo high cycle fatigue, and can be analyzed by simple stress based factors of safety, the second are external accessories that see random loading from the engine vibration. Examples of performing vibration fatigue analysis in nCode DesignLife are also discussed.
