The enhanced digital stabilization to my eyes looks worse

Honestly, the IS in the lens with the wider field of view looks WAY better than the in-camera stabilization. The software stabilization just looks janky to me. Unpleasant to watch. Thanks for the great video and comparison!

The 4K doesn't look that much better than 1080p .. Youtube maybe ?
Also, enhanced stabilization is not really good for such a massive crop lol

Gordon can you do a side-by-side video comparison of the 90D and the GH5 in 4K?

Not sure I could see much difference between 1080 & 4k, or was it just me?

But Grodon Laing it seems like the 4k in this video has been down rezed, right? To truly compare the difference in resolutions, 4k vs 1080, the 4k footage needs to be viewed at actual 4k. And to do so side by side in the same mov. is not as strait forward as it seems. Because your cutting back and forth from 1080 to 4k, you either have to blow up (or pad) the 1080 to 4k, or down rez the 4k (or extract) to 1080, in order to render one continuous clip. Ideally the former over the latter if appraising maximum resolution. And according to the settings the highest this particular video is capable of being viewed on Youtube is 1080... not sure why? I would guess the 4k you filmed is being resized to1080, either in the edit or possibly in the upload...both will cause compression & the 4k to lose a lot of detail. Would love to see the 4k clip uploaded at actual 4k in your longer review?

Looks good gordon, the problem is most of the commenters have watched and listened to people who don’t even have the camera tell them that the 4K is upscale not good etc.
So they tend to mimick those talking points.
Watch it on a 4K monitor and you can clearly see the difference.
Some people will just hate on canon no matter what they do.
Listen to the reviewers who actually have this camera in hand not people who don’t.
I will be getting a 90d perfect for my needs.
Thanks for the review gordon.

I think no dslr can beat the video stabilization of the GH5

The video says you are shooting in 25p with the 90d and my understanding is you can only shoot in 30, 60 or 120 in 1080. Is this a typo?

Great review Gordon, I'd like to ask what do you think of the 4K of the 90d from the the review, it look's ok, but nothing speciale, Thank you

Does the 90D overheat in 4k crop mode if a Ninja is the recorder instead of the SD card?

4k adds so much detail on your face.
The digital stabilisation doesn't look great, maybe with a non IS lens?

Good video! Have your video manual mode or what mode did you use it?

*watching it on my ultra wide 34" monitor and I don't noticed any difference between 1080p to 4K ouch! rather just stick to my Sony 6400!*

Looks great, Gordon. I gave you a thumbs up before I even watched the video because your videos are always first class.

Some people have stated the cropped 4K video is noticeably better quality than the full-frame 4K. What are your thoughts on that?

There is another video on YouTube comparing 90d video at various iso levels, and it looks much better than the recordings here. Certainly, the 1080p video on the EOS R is outstanding. On the other hand, the 90D is supposed to have 1080p120.

In any case, I would not trust any video taken with the ef-s 10-18...literally, the only lens I ever returned because image quality was total crap. However, other people swear by it. I'd rather you use an EF 16-35mm f4L IS for a real comparison.
