Overpopulation is the leading cause of food shortages. In Yemen, the natural rainfalls in the mountains and the fishing lanes are capable of sustaining 5, 000, 000. Since the 1950's the population has risen from 5, 000, 000 to 26, 000, 000. That's more than 400% in 7 decades. They have drained ancient aquifers and relied on heavy foreign aid. When the ports were shut down by the Saudis the food stores were depleted. Now the piper is being paid and starvation is setting in. This has nothing to do with climate change.
