Rocking my 6a from the very first release date and its still doing fine, exceptional camera quality, never lags or hang but battery is so so and completed 546 cycles.

IMO no need to upgrade for at least one year 🙏🏽

I had the pixel 4a 5g for over 3 years. I finally upgraded to the 7a last year. I had almost gotten the 6a, but I'm glad I waited for the 7a. At this point I think it is a good idea to hold out for the pixel 9.

The video make it sound like you can't do payments / app sign ins with biometrics on the 6a but you can. It has an under screen fingerprint scanner. I know they've added face unlock to the 8a but biometrics do exist on the 6a.

Wait, people should upgrade from 6a to 8a because it has 7 years of OS updates? What in the world does that person will do with 7 years of promises if they can't even keep a phone that's 2 years old and still has got another update left?

I'll be keeping my Pixel 6a for the foreseeable future. I have been getting good battery life on my 6a. I've been averaging 3.5 to 4 hours of screen on time a day and ending the day around 45-50% battery remaining and that is with a lot of music streaming while the screen is off. I've been playing Elder Scrolls: Blades a lot and haven't had any heating issues.

Having had the pixel 4a. 6a and now 8a. I can safely assume the reason for the rounder design is simply robustness. 6a is the only phone I've ever owned that had a failed screen, cracked screen and visual bugs due to warping. The 6a had a rough launch on the forums due to similar issues and QC.

Google pixel A series is just so good that I just keep coming back regardless of the 6a QC issues.

Now THIS was the video I was waiting for and wanting. I did wish you compared a little more (such as fingerprint recognition responsiveness on each) but good enough video. As tempting as it is, I'm gonna probably hold off for now. My 6a still rocks and doesn't struggle with anything that I currently do. I don't game on my phone, so I could care less. As long as apps don't bog down the phone. Maybe I'll just get the Pixel Watch 2 instead of a new phone.

6a looks better. The 2-tone finish and confident square angels look so slick. Honestly the 6 series is peak Google design. Save for the nicer matte finish of the 8.

They both look fine to me, most of the AI 'features' are also present on the 6a now, magic editor, cirkel to search, magic eraser etc.

My father and brother use pixel 6a. It's a good phone but the cellular problems are on another level. Are there any significant improvements in the 8 series regarding this?
