Danke Dave. Ich bin ein amerikanischer Verkehrsforscher, und diese Videos helfen mir die deutschen technischen Begriffe besser zu verstehen.

Thank you for the great information! I have just started driving independently in DE and I am still figuring out all the signs. Reading the StVO is just too time consuming. Still learning the parking signs to understand whether the parking is free of charge.

Hllo Dave, thank you for your video 🤗 can you make more about the road sign? There are still many traffic road signs left behind, particularly the warning sign 😉 Vielen Dank 💕💕💕

Richtzeichen are 'directional signs' in British English (Fahrschein nach Florida will know the answer for America! Guide signs?). So the 'Priority over oncoming traffic' sign wouldn't be classed as a Richtzeichen in the UK. Like all rectangular signs, it's an 'informational sign' (Informationszeichen). The basic principle throughout Europe is that triangular signs warn*, circular signs give orders, and rectangular signs inform. (* Though Ireland, alone in Europe, uses diamond-shaped signs -- as in N. America, Australia, etc. -- to warn of dangers.)
