About Montevideo: The Estadio Gran Parque Central is the stadium of Club Nacional de Football. It is located in Montevideo, Uruguay, near Nacional headquarters (exactly between the streets Carlos Anaya, Jaime Cibils, General Urquiza and Comandante Braga), in the La Blanqueada neighbourhood. Due to various factors, it is considered a historical stadium. Built in 1900, it is the oldest current stadium in America and the fifteenth in the world. But it mainly stands out for having hosted the 1930 FIFA World Cup, playing one of the first two matches in the history of the competition, when on 13 July 1930 United States defeated Belgium 3–0 in Group D. FIFA remembered this fact when in 2005 a delegation headed by its president, Joseph Blatter, came to visit the reforms and placed a commemorative plaque at the stadium. This historical fact was remembered by FIFA on two occasions: 1987 and 2005. In addition, the stadium was also the venue for the Uruguay national team, both in soccer and in other disciplines. Since its creation and until 1930, it was the main sports arena in Uruguay, so until the inauguration of the Centenario Stadium, the Uruguayan team officiated as a local in the Gran Parque Central. It was also the venue for other important international tournaments, like the 1923 and 1924 South American Championships (current Copa América), the 2015 South American U-20 Championship or the 2021 Womens Copa Libertadores final. ES EL ESTADIO MAS VIEJO DEL MUNDO EN PIE FUERA DE LAS ISLAS BRITANICAS En él se jugo el partido inaugural de un Mundial de fútbol en 1930 en el que jugaron su primer partido mundialista selecciones como las de Argentina Brasil EEUU y varios paises latinoamericanos mas. Se jugaron 2 Copas America (sudamericanos ganados por Uruguay) 1923 y 1924. Se suicidó en la mitad de la cancha Abdón Porte (cuyo nombre lleva una tribuna) por no poder jugar más en el Club

En el GRAN PARQUE CENTRAL nunca perdió la selección uruguaya En su predio llamado de Quinta de la Paraguaya en su época, José Gervasio Artigas (Prócer Nacional) fue nombrado Jefe de los Orientales El Club Nacional de Fútbol lleva los colores artiguistas (rojo azul y blanco) A dicho Estadio concurría Carlos Gardel el mayor cantor de tango y en sus tribunas nació LA PRIMER HINCHADA DEL MUNDO gracias a Miguel Prudencio Reyes (El primer Hincha que inflaba las pelotas del club)

El estadio con más gloria e historia del país junto al centenario. Hay otras canchas que siguen siendo vírgenes por más modernas que sean. La historia no se compra

En realidad un adefesio arquitectonico, porque cuando no hay lugar no se pueden hacer milagros, como con el de Boca.
Pero antes era un poco mas chico pero armonico. Hubieran llenado bien los codos, poner palcos en una sola tribuna y poco más. Tendría capacidad para unas 30 mil personas. Ahora, siendo ese adefesio tiene capacidad para 34 mil. No valia la pena.

Lo piensan remodelar? se ve antiguo y descuidado, pero tiene potencial, le demolería algunas cosas para hacerlas desde cero.

Sin ofender, pero este estadio no tiene ninguna asimetría, lo que lo hace ver muy raro a la vista por cierto, pero la gloria que han vivido estos pastos ya la quisieran muchos, saludos y mis respetos desde Chile
