My camera gear for safari and wildlife photography #shorts

Main Setup - Sony a7iv paired with the 200-600mm lens. I keep this lens on my camera when we are looking for sightings to be ready for when animals are far away. This lens is essential at parks where you cannot drive off the road.

At private reserves we can drive right up to the animals so whenever a sighting is called in over the radio I switch to the Tamron 35-150mm knowing that we will be incredibly close to cats or wild dogs. This lens also has an aperture range of f2 to f2.8 making it a beast in low light and is ideal for portraits to blur the background. It has recently replaced both my 24-70mm and 70-200mm lenses allowing for a more minimalist setup.

For behind the scenes I use both the insta360 X3 camera and iPhone mounted to the hot-shoe. These set ups do not require much attention allowing me to still focus on my main cameras.

Also worth noting, I filmed this with the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 and Dji Mic 2 which is great for vlogs.

The Sony 200-600mm lens cover looks cool. What is it? It looks like a tape or painted.

What camera bag do you use to carry both lenses and the camera?
