Biobased membranes in the WATERAGRI Project – VTT

VTT introduces a solution which is a biobased nutrient collector and it is prepared using nanocellulose - a material directly sourced from plants.
In an agricultural context, there are several advantages to utilise nanocellulose: it’s a biodegradable and renewable material, its chemical structure offers numerous opportunities for further functionalisations, and most importantly it loves water.

WATERAGRI project has received funding from the EU Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme and its focus is on water retention and nutrient recycling in soils and streams for improved agricultural production.
