Sergio Mendes won the 1993 Grammy for Best World Music Album with 1992 Brasileiro on the Elektra label . Compositions by Carlinhos Brown, Ivan Lins, João Bosco, Guinga and Hermeto Pascoal.

The 1972 Primal Roots ( Raizes)album also
featured some of the best Brazilian composers and musicians -Dorival Caymmi, Baden Powell - with authentic Afro-Brasileiro, jazz/samba arrangements by Sergio Mendes.
The Circle Game /Jogo de Roda written by Edu Lobo and Ruy Guerra, was an almost 19 minute long track on the flip side of the Primal Roots vinyl LP featuring Airto Moreira on percussion, Oscar Castro-Neves on guitar and Tom Scott on flute!

99% of the listeners will compliment the singers. I will do that too of course, but only after complimenting the musicians first, specially the synths and strings guys, for playing a song that has way, way, way too many key changes and modulations to keep track off! I’m certain they had to rehearse this one a lot more than usual. Well done guys fine brand name you have made for yourselfs!
