Matt discovered a couple of Capitol Records curios in his music room that have a connection to The Beatles.

Very cool cases Matt….. I never saw these in the early 1980s when I began collecting records but I have seen them more recently in places like Barnes and Noble. Glad to see these are making a comeback along with vinyl. I do remember Lechmere as I had one in my home city in Massachusetts….kind of sad when they closed in the 1990s. Take care!

I have a blue metal 45 case. Plenty of Beatles/post Beatles 45s in there. Whenever I was sick, my mom would buy me a 45 and a comic to shut me up.

Love hearing the Hollyridge Strings in the background. I'll second that Frank Sinatra Wee Small Hours album. I bought a CD box set with replica versions of the original Capitol "theme" albums. It's a great set although the liner notes are microscopic. Wee Small Hours is by far my favorite of the bunch.

Hey, Matt-guess what I picked up!!!!The Adam VIII Roots ORIGINAL!!!1st one ever for me!!!Been recollecting since'78-never had an original show up.Just the Bell Sound stamp boot(or pseudo one)1st song on both sides on the boot usually started right as the lead in groove stopped-no silence gap(usually the giveaway), and the orange labels had a little sheen on the boot also.This one is flat matte, very light label color, and the 1st song start-in has more of a silence gap after the lead-in groove stops.And, finally,a booklet with all the Adam VIII titles.!!Never came with the boot.The cover is sharper on the brown Adam VIII logo on back, and same with the photos of the 2 R&B lps pictured to the right, on the back.$100.00!!!Good price!!!!I think they normally still run $400 and higher.You have one?!!Let us know.

Couldn't afford LP's in the 60's Matt. Our family had the cases that held 45's. Only thing was they were easily carried off at parties😁. Cheers
